Dozens of SUNY Oswego students spent their 2017 spring break volunteering to teach English lessons to children, help homeowners and provide services in Central America and in distressed communities across the nation.
SUNY Oswego students served as interns in a wide variety of on-campus positions in spring 2017, providing a strong on-the-job learning experience to amplify their coursework.
Four SUNY Oswego seniors active in academics, research, athletics and community service received the 2017 SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence -- the highest student recognition through the statewide university system. This year's Oswego honorees for outstanding achievements inside and outside the classroom are Abigail Boyce, a finance major with a minor in statistics; Tatiana Gregory, a biochemistry major with minors in health science and nutrition; Nicholas Noviasky, a physics major and mathematics minor; and Lauren Saroli, a zoology major and chemistry minor.
Student's earning a grade point average of 3.3 to 3.79 appear on SUNY Oswego's fall 2016 Deans' List.
SUNY Oswego has named high-performing students to the President's List for fall 2016 for earning grade point averages of 3.80 and above on the 4.00 scale.
Eric Hamilton of the Oswego State baseball team has been named to D3baseball.com's 2017 Preseason All-America First Team for third base. This comes on the heels of being recognized as a Second Team All-American by the same entity following the 2016 season.
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has named Emma Geyer as one of its inaugural Scholar Athletes of the Year. Each season, the conference will recognize student-athletes not only for their efforts on the field, but their classroom performance as well. Out of hundreds of student-athletes, Geyer is just one of eight award winners for the fall.
The Oswego State golf team stood alone in fourth place after the final day of the ECAC Division III Mid-Atlantic Championship, hosted by St. John Fisher College at Ravenwood Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday. Oswego followed its Saturday 298 with a Sunday 303 for a two-round total of 601 (+25).
MT. MORRIS, N.Y. - The Oswego State women's cross country team placed 11th with a team score of 392 at the 38th Annual Mike Woods Cross Country Invitational hosted by Geneseo at Letchworth State Park.
The Oswego State men's cross country team continued its four-meet streak of finishing in the top three with a second place showing at Geneseo's Mike Woods Invitational on Saturday morning. Oswego finished second to only the host Knights, who are the top-ranked team in the country in the latest USTFCCCA Division III poll.
