Eric Hamilton of the Oswego State baseball team has been named to D3baseball.com's 2017 Preseason All-America First Team for third base. This comes on the heels of being recognized as a Second Team All-American by the same entity following the 2016 season.
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has named Emma Geyer as one of its inaugural Scholar Athletes of the Year. Each season, the conference will recognize student-athletes not only for their efforts on the field, but their classroom performance as well. Out of hundreds of student-athletes, Geyer is just one of eight award winners for the fall.
The Oswego State men's basketball team began league action with a 61-57 victory over SUNYAC-foe Cortland on Saturday afternoon in Max Ziel Gymnasium. With the win, Oswego is now 5-2 on the year and 1-0 in the conference while the Red Dragons drop to 3-2, 0-1.
The Oswego State women's basketball team dropped the Kangaroos of SUNY Canton 71-46 on Tuesday night in Max Ziel Gymnasium. It is the first victory of the young season for the Lakers (1-4), while Canton is still searching for a tally in the win column (0-5).
The nationally-ranked Oswego State basketball team cruised to a 104-68 victory over SUNY Maritime in the Max Ziel Tournament on Friday night at home. Oswego's win is its first of the young season, improving to 1-1 on the year while Maritime is also 1-1 with the loss. The 104 points is the first time Oswego has surpassed the triple-figure plateau since a 100-98 double-overtime victory against Potsdam on Jan. 25, 2000.
The No. 4/5 Oswego State men's ice hockey team continued its season-opening win streak with a 6-0 victory at Potsdam on Friday night in Maxcy Arena. Oswego extends the winning streak to 6-0 on the year and 4-0 in conference action. Potsdam drops to 2-3-2 overall and 1-3-1 in the SUNYAC.

The Oswego State golf team stood alone in fourth place after the final day of the ECAC Division III Mid-Atlantic Championship, hosted by St. John Fisher College at Ravenwood Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday. Oswego followed its Saturday 298 with a Sunday 303 for a two-round total of 601 (+25).

The Oswego State golf team had two different squads place first out of eight teams at its 19th Annual Fall Invitational, hosted at the Oswego Country Club on Monday afternoon. Oswego "A" and Oswego "B" both shot 317 in the 18-hole tournament, with Oswego "B" taking the crown by the way of the lowest score between each team's fifth-seeded golfer as the tiebreaker. Joshua Krause shot a plus-9 80 compared to Kyle McCloskey's 82 (+11).

Oswego State field hockey moved to 3-0 on the year with a win at home over Wells College. The Lakers were led by Katie Reynolds' four-points on two goals and an assist. Kendra Walker, Grace Rinaldi and Jordan Sheehy each scored while Lacey Woite and Julia Calandra recorded an assist apiece. Junior Sarita Charap made five saves for Oswego in the win.
Grace Rinaldi's goal with 1.2 seconds left in regulation sent Oswego to overtime at home against Houghton College. Just over four minutes in, transfer-sophomore Katie Reynolds notched the sudden-victory goal in OT, giving the Lakers a 3-2 win over Houghton - the program's first win in a season-opener since 2009. Jordan Sheehy assisted on Reynolds' goal while Monica Harvey dished an assist on Rinaldi's game-tying tally. Sarita Charap made four saves to keep Oswego in the game throughout the contest.

The Oswego State women's soccer team's season is just weeks away, and two individuals are returning with a new experience under their belts. Mary Morrison and Sarah Grupp traveled to Costa Rica for eight days in May for Beyond Sports' Fourth Annual Costa Rica Women's Soccer Tour.
Abigail Boyce of the Oswego State women's track and field was named to the Division III All-Academic list by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Boyce has received praise for her outstanding performance on the track as well as in the classroom. She joins the rest of her teammates, as the entire squad was regonized on the list of Scholar Teams of the Year.
The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWCLA) and Zag Sports has named two Oswego State athletes to its annual Division III Academic Honor Roll list. The IWLCA has also recognized the entire squad as one of 276 teams on its Academic Merit Squad list. Recipients of this recognition must post a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year.
The second-seeded Oswego State baseball team finished in third place at the NCAA Championship New England Regional following a 7-1 loss to No. 3 Tufts University on Saturday at Eastern Connecticut State University's Eastern Stadium. Oswego - the nation's seventh ranked team - wraps the year with a program-record 35 wins compared to just 11 losses. The Lakers made their second-straight NCAA Division III Championship this season and the program's fifth overall appearance, going 3-2 in the regional, earning its first NCAA postseason victory since a 21-20 triumph over Ohio Northern University in 1984.
